Finding the right business network in Berlin
Cost, commitment, mix of industries: what business owners in Berlin should look for when choosing a network.
Berliner Netzwerk, Wednesday, 21 October 2026
Berlin has many business networks: referral groups with fixed rules, industry associations, clubs, informal get-togethers. Which one suits you depends on what you want to get out of it.
Five questions before you commit
- What does it cost? Some networks charge joining fees and annual fees, others are free. Count your time as well.
- How much commitment does it take? Weekly breakfasts with compulsory attendance are quite different from one evening a month with no obligation.
- Who sits at the table? Owners and decision-makers, or mostly salespeople? Many industries, or just one?
- Is it about selling or about talking? In some formats everyone takes turns presenting their offer. Elsewhere the conversation comes first.
- Does the tone suit you? You'll only find out once you've been along as a guest.
Try it out as a guest
Almost every network welcomes guests. Make use of that. One evening tells you more than any website. Notice whether you get talking to people you wouldn't otherwise have met, and whether you look forward to the next evening.
The Berliner Netzwerk in brief
We are a business network for Berlin's small and mid-sized companies. We meet once a month at changing venues in Berlin. Membership is free, there is no attendance requirement and no pitch round. Most evenings are held in German; several times a year we meet in English. How we differ from other networks, and when another network is the better choice, is set out openly in our comparison. The current figures are on our facts and figures page.
Rather talk about it in person?
Once a month, business owners from Berlin's small and mid-sized companies get together. Guests are welcome.
